This game is ok if you wanna be scared for a few hours.Or an explorer searching for clues as to what happened in Hanwell, a once safe haven from the Anomalies. I was 3 short at the end of the game and I didn't want to replay it for them. I'm not sure what collecting the DNAs get you. I looked at these briefly after finishing the game. The Prototype mode is alpha version of Welcome to Hanwell. There is the Escape mode which is basically Slender Eight Pages but you collect 10 Doctor DNAs instead and a bloody brute hunting you down instead. Gettting all the eyes gives you a nice perk for the survival mode which is waves of enemies coming at you in a few different maps. There are also two types of collectibles. Also, if you press Z, you can play in third person mode. Fortunately there isn't much of it in the game. With every swing your view swings too making you dizzy. I guess at least there is no stamina system. ![]() Not that there are many intricately designed assets in the game but anyway. Graphically, in my opinion it looks very good. The sound design and music are very nice. It is told through notes and answering machines you find. I didn't understand the story all that much but frankly I don't really care. This goes on for several levels until you enter the Council. First main objective is to collect pieces of an ID card to enter the Council. Another good thing is that you don't need batteries but if you use it all the time, it will go off and you need to wait for a bit to recharge. The gameplay is finding keys or codes and using them to open doors and safes. In some levels you get a weapon, some you don't. I remember getting many goosebumps while playing. I think they aren't too often to the point they lose their effect. Because of this I don't play these types of games often. I think this is a good thing because I remember getting stuck in that game not knowing where to go or what to do. ![]() I guess the streets which you go through to get to the other levels is removed too. The game plays the levels in order whereas in the other game you would play them in the order you wanted. This is the same game with Welcome to Hanwell with the difference of this not being open world. TL DR Good if you want to be scared for a couple of hours in a post-Slender indie game.
